The
Hot House Flowers at Chagstock '08
We
have been asked by some folk who haven't been to a festival before
- and use other well known festivals as a guide - to provide some
more details about the sort of music on offer and who the festival
is aimed at.
Chagstock is intended to be family friendly although not exclusively,
and suitable for young and not so young alike. To complement that
philosophy we are keen not to focus on any particular music genre,
but to offer a blend of music to suit a wide range of tastes. We
also put in a lot of effort to ensure that the experience is as
pleasant as possible, with no overcrowding (the license limits numbers)
and plentiful clean facilities - with proper loo trailers for the
ladies!
There
is a licensed bar on site, food available from stall holders and
a kids play area.

Look

"Who
Did It?... We Did It!” came the lively chant that accompanied
the parading of this first Chagstock Festival Banner as it wound
its silky way through the crowds to its resting place in front of
the main stage, carried triumphantly along by the ‘We Did
It Crew’! Young & old doodled & painted their way
through Saturday in the Creative Tent, participating in a great
spiral of creative communication while the bands played on! Watch
the videos & read all about the ‘Silk Road Chagstock’
at www.SamiArt.co.uk
See you in 2009 for more spontaneous creation!"

Here
are some testimonials from Chagstock '08:
Our
second Chagstock and it just got better and better! The stunning
location, the intimate atmosphere, the family fun, the gorgeous
and increasing circle of friends (word of mouth is a wonderful thing!),
the familiar faces and last but by NO means least, the music - were
all superb. Highlights? The atmosphere in the acoustic tent - brilliant.
Particularly Friday with the ever brilliant traditional irish music
from Life of Reilly and the incredible performance by Show of Hands
and on Saturday the talented Bettina. You managed to retain a bit
of the old with some great 'new' and it was a lovely eclectic mix
of styles and talent.
Kind regards Chantal, James, Brogan and Fergus Dent.

After
speaking to you last week about tickets etc. we travelled down from
London to Chagstock. The first time we have been to this event.
All I want to tell you is that it was BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT.
We were met like long lost friends by the car park attendants and
everyone was so friendly. Hothouse Flowers were fantastic!!!!!!
We will come back next year. Lynne.

Just
want to say that we had an awesome time at Chagstock, it's such
a good festival so credit to you and everyone who runs it, and thanks
for having us. We managed to sell 18 Cd's on the merchandise stall
so I guess we went down quite well. We'd love to play there again
next year if you want to have us back, we're hoping to be on a decent
record label by then. Thanks again, Chasing Faces.

Many

all had a great time and so did I-particularly seeing Hot house
Flowers & Show of Hands. All the best Mark.

Thank
you for putting on a great friendly festival, this year was even
better than last year! long may it last. Thought the loo facilities
were excellent and the plastic road was such a good idea. Anyway,
really really enjoyed the festival and had one of the best weekends
away this year, thank you. All the best. Susanna.
